There I was cleaning a window and thinking about cleaning. I think about cleaning a lot these days. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I clean at a high school. Anyways, I was there cleaning and trying to decided which side of the window a streak was on. I was tempted to leave it and go my way when this verse popped into my head, “Whatsoever you do, do all to the glory if God.” I realized if I walked away I would not be doing it to the glory of God.
But my thoughts went on. What if Jesus was coming to that school the next day or that night? I would clean that window until there were no streaks left. Jesus was going to be at that school the next day and that night and always, because He is God and God is everywhere. But we do not fully grasp this concept because we do not see God.
Jesus promised that He would come back some day. That day could be today, or tomorrow, or the next day. We know this in theory but few of us really know this. If we did we would live differently. How would you leave your room if you knew Jesus would be the next person to walk in to it? How would you accomplish your work if you knew Jesus would see it? How would you do your homework if you knew Jesus would grade it?
One day Jesus is going to come back and He just might walk into your bedroom, or your house, or your workplace. How would you feel if Jesus walked into your bedroom right now? It’s a good thought to have on your mind as you leave your room, or house, or do your work. Someday He is coming back and it might be today.
